01x05 - Carl Carlson

The question around my house these days is, "Will Carl Carlson show back up in a later season? If so, how will he have changed?" So I am throwing it out to you for your input. . .

I don't believe we'll ever see him again, he seems to have been assimilated by the Artifact. The way he was character was developed throught the episode also leads me to believe that he's gone for good. If he was returning, he probably wouldn't have changed so quickly, from neurotic scientist to controlling madman (okay, maybe that last bit didn't happen, but I can't remember what did  ).

I don't really think we will see him again even though I'd like for him to come back. Well, so far we don't know if he's even dead since they didn't find a body or anything - he might come back in the second season and somehow do something weird to the town. They kind of don't like to leave things hanging (which is why I think they followed up with what eventually happened to Walter and Susan).

Carl

I agree--although not everyone in my household does. It would be hard to have someone with unlimited power wandering around town.

When I first was watching I was thinking how that would have been a perfect episode for the return of him.

They leave some things hanging, like, for example, they've have barely said anything about who Beverly works for. They have only given us small clues throughout nearly every episode (including the pilot). Also, until Once in a Lifetime we never knew what punishment Walter recieved, though, it might not be the same one he actually has (stupid alternate realities). So, see, there are sometimes where they leave things hanging.

Yeah, they have several things that are unresolved that they can do all kinds of things with. Like Jack and Zoe passing themselves on the way to EUReKA to begin with.

I bet there are some writers sitting around wondering the same thing, "Okay, Fred, just how ARE we gonna explain that?" "Dunno, George. Maybe we should just wait until next season to think about it." "Good idea, Fred."

:D

Wow, I completly forgot about that scene. I really wonder how they're going to explain that one. Maybe the last episode of the series (which hopefully won't be for a while) will have that scene.
