RE: Why you should never leave Fargo alone with technology...

I'm happy to agree to disagree. wink Just one thing I'd like to point out though: Eureka does have a church, as shown in the episode God Is In the Details. So some of them probably do attend it.
And while I didn't mean a show should bend over backwards to accommodate everyone, I meant it should try to cater to the majority of viewers. If the Eureka staff knows a certain percent of viewers want to see a transportation device, for instance, they might be more inclined to include one in an episode. So what I meant was catering to the target audience. Sorry for not being more clear.
I didn't mean that Eureka was going out of bounds, because if I thought it was I wouldn't be here, but that I hope they continue to practice the same moderation.
And there was a sort of bedroom scene with Beverly in Alienated too. :P
But no, I don't want to argue, I was merely debating the point. We don't argue on this forum either; it's against the rules. We all respect each other's opinions on here. biggrin

I agree with you on that point, Robin, about Abby staying with Jack, even though I don't like her. :P I had forgotten they weren't already divorced and were just separated.

Wait, then what is he doing dating Callie? I assumed they were divorced. And they refer to each other as ex-wife and ex-husband more than once.

In the pilot, they are separated. There is never any mention of formal proceedings although Zoe comments that her parents are divorced. I asked Jaime for a definite answer on whether Jack and Abby are officially divorced and whether Nathan actually followed through with the divorce papers given to him in Primal, and he conveniently just didn't answer that e-mail. . . so being an Abby/Jack shipper, I choose to say that until they make a definite statement on the issue, Jack is still married, if estranged. As I am so fond of saying, "Removal of a wedding band does not a divorce make."

Well, if that's the case, then Jack is flirting with bigamy charges...

Though, I think you're right. The romantic entanglements on the show are very much dependent on the respective divorces, so I think the writers would regard them as important enough to show the outcomes onscreen.

Since Jaime didn't answer me, I wondered if they wanted to leave us hanging on that in case they wanted to make an issue of it later on. . .

Fair enough. They probably don't want to write themselves into a corner.

Apropos of nothing, I forgot to mention, the scene that gave me chills in this episode was the transfer of power scene, where Allison and Nathan walk into the GD conference room and the camera follows their profiles. The music was perfectly orchestrated, there were so many parallels and heavy symbolism in that scene...I could watch it again and again.

True. Of course, the big issue with most on the forum seemed to be what their codes were. Nathan's spelled "Allison" and hers was the number in that old song. . .

Meh, maybe it's just an in-joke with the writers. I'm not inclined to think the numbers have huge significance. They were just cutaway shots to inject some variety into the scene.

I really liked how that scene was done too. It came off just as seriously as it was intended. I really would like to re-watch that since I'm sure the little details must have escaped me in the first, "oh-wow," moment of taking it all in.

Jack and Abby are divorced. Let me tell you something Jack is divorced from Abby, he is dating Callie, is that so difficult to understand it and Abbyis back for Zoe.

Well, I don't know if Jack and Abby are officially divorced or not, but he sure isn't dating Cally. We haven't seen her in forever and he never seemed nearly as interested in her as she was in him.

Neither relationship have had "official" word of closing, but I think that if we choose to believe that Jack isn't dating Callie, then we have to accept that Jack and Abby are divorced or as-good-as. Otherwise you're just cherry-picking assumptions.

-shrug- I don't see why. They sure seem to be "as-good-as", I just don't know if they actually are divorced. I'm assuming we were never told just to leave it open enough to leave a sliver of doubt and a possible plot twist in the future.
Why just because Jack isn't still dating Callie would mean that he has to be divorced, I don't understand. I do concede that I was too sure of myself in my previous post; I don't know for sure if he's not dating her anymore. It just sounds like it, especially since he's got a new love interest coming up soon according to an article that was posted on here a short while back.

Fine. We can sit and argue (chasing rabbits, by the way, since this is supposed to be about Fargo) whether there are signed divorce papers. Maybe there are. And maybe I am also too positive on my attitudes. But let's just agree to disagree, okay? I ship Jack and Abby. Period. She still loves him. He isn't obviously dating Callie, and I know there are those that ship them. The ongoing Jack/Allison routine is the one that seems to be the one the writers are going to play on; bringing in new love interests or not. The long term issue is the romantic tension between Jack and Allison. I want them to bring Stark back to complete that triangle again, but that is another thread altogether. So by the way, how's Fargo?
